Dear Jennifer,
Several bone objects with drilled holed along them have been discussed by members of this Group on March 2013, who also sent photographs and bibliography. You can either find a way to read these emails (I have only prints) or to ask them to send their material again. Some of them are:
Fotis Ifantidis (fotisif at gmail.com<mailto:fotisif at gmail.com>) – two objects from Dispilio;
Narissa Russell (nr29 at cornell.edu<mailto:nr29 at cornell.edu>) – from Selevac, referring to: Hoffmann, M. 1974.
The Warp-Weighted Loom. McMinneville; Wild, J.-P. 1970. Textile Manufacture in the Northern Roman Provinces. Cambridge;
Prof. Poplin (poplin at mnhn.fr<mailto:poplin at mnhn.fr>) – object E328 from the Egyptian Collection in the Louvre, also referring to objects from India in Traditional Jewelry of India pp. 66-67;
Marta Moreno Garcia (marta.moreno at cchs.csic.es<mailto:marta.moreno at cchs.csic.es>) – Islamic objects from Spain/Portugal
And more scholars who answered and sent material.
Attached are photos of a bone belt (probably from India) with such separators, and a drawing from Gleba 2007 of a reconstructed loom from Italy.

> Such objects are usually explained as belt divider, bead separator or even a weaving tablet. One example (also not complete) was found in Caesarea, Israel. It did not originate in a dated locus but is probably of the Roman/Byzantine/Early Islamic period (1st-11th cen.). see:
