[Bonetools] A possible ivory pendant

Thanks everyone. Two people have suggested it could be shell based on the microstructure. Are there varieties of shell that have such a yellowish and bonish aspect at a macro-level of observation?

This is definitely not an ivory but the structure could well be that of shell.

Subject: [Bonetools] A possible ivory pendant Hi folks,
I have a colleague who found an artifact on an Iroquoian site in Ontario and has two questions about it:
1) Could it be ivory?
2) What function could it have? A pendant is the best interpretation I could think of considering the two (partial) perforations, but I wonder if there could be any other possibilities I should consider?
