I agree. This looks more like horn but a detailed close of the sides, edges and particularly the dark interior might help confirm this.

Subject: [Bonetools] FW: antler shuttle?

Hello all,
A large group of daily life objects of the 19th-20th cen. has been received to our collection. It includes several shuttles of a pedal loom, mostly made of wood, as was common among local Palestinian weavers. One, however (see photos), seems to be made of antler, which was a rather uncommon raw material here. Questions:

1. Is it really antler?

2. Does anyone know of parallels, origin, date, etc.?
Thanks
