This is a little off topic, but I have an article on scapula from the southern Levantine Iron Age which provide a useful comparison.

I have posted it on two different websites for downloading by scholars:

Thanks Janet
I do of course have your PhD, but when I read it I was not interested in the hoes and so had forgotten that you included them :-)
Thank you also for the Chinese reference.

Justin

Dear WBRG members
I'm looking for any references to bone hoes, particularly ones made from scapulas.
I've managed to find quite a few examples from the Plains Indians, but none of them have included a use-wear study.
Any information you have will be appreciated.
Thanks
Justin
