Subject: [Bonetools] WAC 2016

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone thought about organising some session at the next World Archaeological Congress in Kyoto, in 2016? This could be another great occasion to meet zooarchaeologists from every corner of the world, different from the ICAZ meetings (the next one being in 4 long years!). It could also be the occasion to talk about zooarchaeology from a different perspective, from an historical or sociopolitical one for example, knowing the strong critical, political, and social inclination of the WAC.

End of September 2015 is the official deadline to submit a session, so we should act within the next few weeks if we would like to participate as a group in a common session. I could volunteer to organise one, but I would need to have suggestions for a theme (I have some of my own, which I will share later) and have an idea of how much interested you people are in participating to such a session. Please consider that WAC has a well developped program of financial help for participants from Indigenous groups and economically disadvantaged countries.

Also, it could be interesting to open this session to all zooarchaeologists, not only to worked bone specialists, depending on the theme session we would favored.
Do not hesitate to share any thoughts or comments on this "non-official" call for submission.
Best,
Christian
