Dear all,
within the Magdatis project
(https://univ-tlse2.academia.edu/Magdatisproject) we have made 3 short
films of 2 minutes each to publicize the radiocarbon dating work done on
the Paleolithic collections from the Musée d'archéologie nationale
(Saint-Germain-en-Laye) and the musée d'Aquitaine (Bordeaux). Each film
revolves around the direct dating of an antler object selected among the
iconic artifact types of the Late Upper Paleolithic. The films can be
viewed on the websites of the Traces and Pacea laboratories:
- Traces:

- Pacea youtube account (films 7, 8 and 9):

These films were produced by the Get In Situ company
(http://www.getinsitu.com/) thanks to ANR funding
(http://www.agence-nationale-recherche.fr/) and the work of CNRS
researchers from Traces and Pacea. They are intended for display in
museums and universities. They were also made to help convincing museum
curators that punching (small) holes in precious prehistoric artifacts
to get an AMS date is sometimes worth doing...
The films have been available since late May, I did some advertising
about them but I somehow forgot the Bonetools list. Apologies for this
and for any cross-posting.
Best,
Jean-Marc
