Dear all,
During
excavations of a Roman villa in the Netherlands a pit has been excavated which
contains metal weaponry from the late iron age. In this pit a fragment of an
ivory ring or bracelet (?) has been found. It has an estimated diameter of 8
cm, the thickness is 5,8 x 6,7 mm.
Does anyone
know of any parallels or references or anything else? Early medieval examples
are welcome too.
Best
wishes,
Marloes
