Our Colleague Vincent Cattersel gave us, in
http://balat.kikirpa.be/photo.php?path=X035781&objnr=20052916
a fine example of what I meant with
"a "lateral" produce of the action" :
on it's comb, the teeth have been separated with a saw - sorry : with
two saws (at least) - which brimed over / bited the cross-beam (bar,
rod, tiller, what else ?) which ties the toothed elements together.
best regards
(sorry, I have troubles with my e-mail system)
2°) was to let you run to the screens to find the missing part...
You may notice that the notches are not parallel, but converging
somewhere above the image.
Would you say that they have been produced by a string (or by a saw ???) ?
It's possible that you have there not precisely the expected result of
the action, but a "lateral" produce of it.
And ?
Your's sincerely.
