Dear Selena,
This is really a great initiative in the face of rather a lot of difficulties for these fields. I will add this initiative publication to the list of important publications connected to bone tool studies for the ICAZ Newsletter and website.
Best,
Alice

Hello, Alice and everyone,

If you allow me to brag a little bit, my colleague Nataša Miladinović-Radmilović, physical anthropologist, and myself, we intiated a Bioarcheological section within Serbian archaeological society, and we have sessions within Society's annual meetings, with main goal to present all the work from "specialists" - including physical anthropology, archaeobotany, zooarchaeology and bone tool studies, which are all still rather young subdisciplines in our region. We had first meeting in 2012, second in 2013 and planning one in this year too, and the first proceedings were published in 2013 - pdf available at Society's academia page: https://www.academia.edu/5451984/Bioarheologija_na_Balkanu._Bilans_i_perspektive_Bioarchaeology_in_the_Balkans._Balance_and_perspectives

This volume has two papers on bone tools specifically, one mine and one from Isabelle Sidéra. This volume has texts in Serbian and English, with summaries in the other language.

Even if this is a small contribution in the large field of world's bone tool studies, perhaps some of the colleagues might want to take a look into the book - and everyone is welcome to join us at meetings and as a contributor for the next volume.

best regards, Selena
