[Bonetools] thrown percussion

Dear all,

To continue on this question, there is a relevant substitution terminology
developed by Céline Thiébaut and collaborators. Instead of " percussion
posée", C. Thiébaut and collaborators speak about "geste posé" : « D’après
(Goutas, 2008, p. 65).

In short, the idea is that: “The notion of “geste posé” was defined by
opposition in a “thrown movement/gesture” (percussion). It refers to any
action during which the tool is put on/ posed on (and not thrown) the worked
material (a pressure, friction
). To me this terminology is interesting
because less prone to confusion.

Best regards,
Nejma

Yhank you JM for this clear answer. Grace's remarck is very interesting
because Percussion in that case is confusing. Personnaly I keep Leoi-Gouhan
calssification which is good to distinguish different kind of tool (in the
sense of functional) but I speak about action instead of percussion which I
reserve as a technique for getting flakes.
