Thanks a lot for the article on this topic Idoia. This help explain more than a lot on the anvil-bones as well as the fragment found in connection with the metalsmiths workshop. Those are definately not from the metalsmiths meal as many archaeologist like to interpret it, guess the metalsmith would choke on the bones if trying to eat.!  I sent the article to  Henriette Lyngstrøm Copenhagen University, a expert in metalsmiths and knifes primarly from the Iron Age here in Denmark, she was happy to receive it and see such work.

all the best

Dear Idoia, I added your paper to the reference list, please check it.

And
dear other colleagues, it is now over a year since I started uploading
references on the typology page, and so far haven't received any critics
nor comments. I haven't done as much as I intended, since I had
extremely long excavation seasons, but now I am at home and perhaps you
may suggest me some addings and corrections? Especially if you have some
of your own work that I haven't included yet.

all the best, selena

Here in Hungary we are getting more and more of these things from medieval and early modern contexts made on the ugliest bones such as Bos or Equid pelvis or mandible! They are not yet published. Naturally now that we recognie them we also find them!
