Dear Marloes Rijkelijkhuizen,
the first thing I had in mind was (greek) akridotheke, fr. cage à
sauterelle/criquet, germ. Grillenkäfig, it. cabietta per grilli. The
thing must be big enough for cicada - specially of chinese species -
theses cages are very popular in China (where nightingall cages are a
sort of amplification). One may classify them among the (ecolo-)music
games of children.
===> what king of beasts (May-bietle/-bug also may be concerned) in
the country ?
But so little (quite a third of that), and with the possiblity of a tiny
handle : ===> baby rattle.
Ready to go on helping you
