Dear list memmbers,

I added some new items to the WBRG website that may be of interest
for somebody.

Sean Rice reqest for comparative items for the miniature sword found
at the Links of Noltland recently is now added to the Mystery
Bonetool page at
http://www.wbrg.net/index.php?
option=com_content&task=view&id=33&Itemid=20

Within the "Various Links"
(http://www.wbrg.net/index.php?
option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=32)
there is now a link to a Canadian project dealing with the virtual 3D
reconstruction of a Thule whale bone house:
3D Thule Whalebone House Project
internet: www.pro.rcip-chin.gc.ca/carrefour-du-savoir-knowledge-
exchange/osbaleine_3d_etude-whalebone_3d_study-eng.jsp

There is also a related publication now included in the reference
database:
Levy, Richard & Dawson, Peter (2008): Structural Analysis, A Tool for
Testing 3D Computer Reconstructions of Thule Whalebone Houses. in:
Posluschny, Axel / Lambers, Karsten / Herzog, Irmela (eds.): Layers
of Perception. Proceedings of the 35th International Conference on
Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA),
Berlin, Germany, April 2–6, 2007, Kolloquien zur Vor- und
Frühgeschichte 10, 134-139, Bonn
online: https://webdisk.ucalgary.ca/~rmlevy/public_html/Publications/
Levy_et_al-thuleCAA07.pdf

The "Bone workers" section
(http://www.wbrg.net/index.php?
option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=33)
contains some new links to present day bone workers from New Zealand,
Moldova, Lithuania and Germany:
Brian Flintoff: http://www.jadeandbone.co.nz/
Owen & Hanne Mapp: http://www.jadeandbone.co.nz/
Natasha Popova: http://www.natashapopova.com/
Virginijus Narkus: http://www.vilkas.info/
Astrid Dingeldey: http://art-asta.de/ and http://ars-asta.de/

And finally there is a major publication on worked bone topics that
at least I have overseen so far:
Bertrand, Isabelle (2008): Le Travail De L'os, Du Bois De Cerf Et De
La Corne À L'époque Romaine: Un Artisanat En Marge ? - Actes De La
Table Ronde Instrumentum, Chauvigny (Vienne), 8-9 Décembre 2005,
instrumentum 34, Montagnac

Best wishes

Christian
