[Bonetools] bone artefact from the Middle Ages

It's a pity that you get no other answer ; it's a pity too that I get no
answer to my questions.
In the blacky part, is it the genuine surface of bone, or is there some
coating ?
Do you use birch bark tar in that region ?
Can you let search metal as silver ?
