Dear Putelat,
I apologize, but I allready told you, on one of these pieces, at Saint-Germain-en-Laye, in a dark corner or a room of that Museum where you show it to me, that it comes from the base of tusk, cut transversally, the cementum getting separate ot the dentin with time.
I told you too that it would be very good to make at least one C-14 datation. I beg it as a big good action for Science.
Sincerely.

Dear colleagues, I have a question concerning these three objects found in two graves (ILL-B 175 & VEN-489, 6th-7th s. AD) in Alsace (France). VEN-489 was associated with some fragments of a ivory ring. Could all of these objects deal with the longitudinal section of an elephant tusk ? Many thanks in advance for your response.
All the best. Olivier.
