Dear all,
My colleague, physical anthropologist Nataša Miladinović-Radmilović and
myself, we are planning to organise a session within the Annual meeting of
the Serbian Archaeological Society, entitled "Bioarchaeology on the Balkans
- balance and perspectives."
The aim of the session is to present some of the past or current research
related to the analyses of animal, plant and human remains from
archaeological sites, as well as to discuss some of the problems and
prospects for future research.
We would like to invite the researchers from neighbouring countries, as
well as those from far and distant lands, but with research relevant for
the Balkan area, to join the session.
If there is anyone insane enough to come to Serbia and participate, you are
very welcome.
Please send your abstracts in Serbian or English before 31 March.
Serbian Archaeological Society exists for 129 years. This year, the meeting
will be held from 24. to 26. may in the town of Valjevo, in western Serbia,
approximately 1.5 hours by bus from Belgrade. The society does not have a
web-page, only facebook group
http://www.facebook.com/groups/120776221278307/ - there you may see some of
the photos from the last year's meeting, held in Kraljevo.
Languages used during conference are Serbian and English. Last year, the
conference fee was 1.400 dinars (slightly less than 14 euros) and included
abstract book and the gala dinner.
Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested. And do
not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
best wishes,
Selena Vitezović
