I was going to ask wether that other end was broken. How are the holes
there (have yo a picture ?)?. If at least one is broken, better two,
it may be a lasso (buckle ? I am not sure of the word), i.e. the
lasso is tied at a hole on one end and circulates in another hole on
the other end (but that hole is generally bigger ; I don't feel it
there). When a hole is broken/opened, it may be convenient to bore
another nearby - which may brake at its turn... But the lasso is more
northern, among Lapps, with reindeer Part of some (horse ?) harness ??
The main question becomes the species of antler (deer, elk, reindeer)
and we come there to the future of our research : DNA.
Your's.
