With my best regards to everybody.

Dear Sarah Whitcher Kansa,

this is the last (and not least) step of that leg-handled knives' story
(arised from Petra). The principle of that knife is now living in the
Laguiole's knife. You can simply type "laguiole" and "knife" or
"couteau" on Google, or go on www.laguiole-en-aubrac.com : I discovered
a special shop, named "Laguiole" in the Saint Louis Isle (35, rue des
deux Ponts, 75004 Paris accueil at laguiole-en-aubrac.fr ) just going out
of the Forney librairy were I looked on books dealing with this very matter.

Previously, I found for you the joined image dating from 1772, as a
significant example of both the part of eternity you can find in human
hand's activity and of the "arts et manufactures" of the old Europe ;
1772 means that such things were living at the time of Lafayette and
could have been brought by himself to your country.

And I let you remember of plates II fig. 16/17, V fig. 2-5, VII fig.
7-10 on

the new thing beeing that they are "jambettes" too.

I bring you all that as a gift to thank/congratulate you about our
publication of your object from Petra

Your's

François POPLIN
