Dear all,
I was wondering if anyone could help.
This appears to be worked cattle metatarsus-recovered from a rectangular
enclosure ditch with some Deverel-Rimbury (Middle Bronze Age) pottery (in
Cambridge). This enclosure ditch is, however found in a very Roman
landscape, but is lacking Roman dating evidence. A single cereal grain has
been dated and has come back as Roman, but it could be intrusive. Site
manager is convinced that the enclosure is Roman, but the pottery says
differently. This piece of worked bone is our only chance to hazard a guess
about the dating of our enclosure. I was hoping that someone would be able
to help. Find the photos attached. Many thanks!!! greetings from foggy
