Yes.  I agree (sorry to come in so late) but this looks like a chisel cutting down into the material to cut and prise bone from the surface.

Hi Marloes - I think this shows more clearly that the action of a chisel has caused this chattering on the surface. It may be that the bulk of the extra bone to be trimmed was also "cut" into blocks prior to this reduction, but I am less sure on that matter. Colleen
