[Bonetools] Ivory Research Workshop

Dear Alice,

 

Well Paul Lane and I did get funding for a year's ivory research cluster
from the AHRC/EPSRC Science and Heritage programme!  We decided, late last
year, to postpone our ESF application until we knew the results of this bid
and we hope this success will strengthen our chances of getting European
funding.

  

Here is the announcement of our first workshop at the Merseyside Maritime
Museum, Liverpool, on the 23rd April 2009.  

 

We are planning a second workshop at the Horniman Museum, London, on 9th
June that will look at ivory histories, future directions for ivory research
and the development of protocols for best practice, and would welcome
suggestions for papers (and posters). 

 

 

Our web site (http://sites.google.com/a/ebur.eu/ivory/) is just being
constructed but as it grows I hope it will become a very useful resource for
ivory research so please let me know of anything you think we should include
or any links to other meetings, organisations or information resources we
should include.  I'm particularly interested in hearing from anyone with
useful bibliographic material including brief abstracts.
