Hi
Bone-handled toothbrushes are reasonably common in North American historical-era
sites. We have some in the site I'm working on now (a late 19th/early 20th c.
more-or-less middle-class, multi-ethnic residential neighborhood in Tucson,
Arizona), and I'm at this minute doing a bit of research trying to track down
information about them (and other late 19th early 20 c bone artifacts).
I'd be happy to pass along what I find to those of you who are interested, just
let me know!
Janet
