Dear colleagues,

A friend and colleague from Israel, Irit Zohar, has written about some
veryunusual fish bones from a 800,000 year old archaeological site in the
Jordan Valley.
She says she hasnever seen marks like this on the bones and that they
are unusually polished looking - even for fish bone. I am sending along the
pictures she sent. they are not the best but for the moment they will have to
do. Any ideas - they look like nothing very special to me but then I am not
used to looking at tools from such ancient contexts? Her e-mail is:
 zoharir at post.tau.ac.il

Best alice
