[Bonetools] worn scapulae

Dear Rosie,
      I have objects made from caprinae tibia dyaphyses from the Eneolithic 
site of Ljubljana barjia. I have been puzzling over them myself. The objects, 
are from an old excavation and therefore varnished (hence the apparent 
high polish) but the criss-crossing lines are the same as your scapulae. I 
have attached an example here. Any ideas welcomed.  The same site also 
has cattle and red deer mandible thong smoothers. We have something 
similar from a Bell-Beaker ste near Budapest and Rene Kysely has sent me 
pictures of the same type from a contemporary site in the Czech republic.
