In Southern California, and I am sure elsewhere, I've observed Eagle, or
Raptor talon amulets. Not to go off on a tangeant- deer astragalus have
been used for various things such as gaming pieces here aswell.  Sea Otter
femurs are used as gaming pieces along the coast.  I have seen some
interesting amulets made from the cranial portion of a bony fish, where it
is polished and drilled with string wear.
