[Bonetools] iron age handle?

Dear Marloes,
Though I have never seen an implement like it, it looks to me like a sheep metatarsal that has been made into some kind of weaving implement. The polish on the surface suggests it has been used for wool or leather. The hole in the end probably was probably for a ribbon or cord.I shall be interested to know what others think,
